Do Sri Lankan passport holders need a transit visa for Seoul (ICN)?
No visa needed for an airside connection, generally within 24 hours on a through ticket. Leaving the airport needs a Korean visa.
For an airside connection at Incheon International Airport, South Korea: one ticket, bags checked through, onward flight to another country, no immigration.
Leaving the airport during the layover
Indians with a qualifying US, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand or European visa, travelling to or from that country, can enter visa-free for 30 days. Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan and Nepali passport holders are excluded from that and need a Korean visa.
Watch out
Connecting between Incheon (ICN) and Gimpo (GMP), or a self-transfer that needs bags checked in again, means entering Korea.
Checked on 25 October 2026 against these sources. Transit rules change often, and the airline and the immigration authority have the final say, so confirm with your airline before you travel.
