Schengen 90/180-day calculator
Add each stay in the Schengen area, past or planned, then pick a date. The calculator counts the days you have used in the 180 days up to it and tells you how long you can stay from that date.
Pick a date to check. The result shows the days used in the 180 days up to it and how long you can stay.

The rule
How the 90/180-day rule works
It applies to short stays in the Schengen area, whether you travel on a Schengen visa or visa-free.
90 days in any 180
A short-stay visa or visa-free entry allows at most 90 days in the Schengen area in any 180-day period, counted across all member countries together.
The window rolls
The 180 days are not a calendar half-year. On any day, look back at that day and the 179 before it: the days you spent inside must add up to 90 or fewer.
Entry and exit days count
The day you arrive and the day you leave are both days of stay, even if you land late at night or fly out in the morning.
Your visa can allow less
A Schengen visa states its own validity dates and number of days. You must keep within those as well as the 90/180 rule, whichever ends first.
FAQ
Schengen 90/180 questions
How does the Schengen 90/180-day rule work?
On any day you are in the Schengen area, count the days you spent there in the 180 days ending on that day. The total must not exceed 90. Days in different member countries add up together.
Do the entry and exit days count?
Yes. The day you enter and the day you leave both count as full days of stay.
Does the 180-day period reset after I leave?
No. It is a rolling window that moves forward one day at a time, so old days drop out gradually. The calculator works out the first day you can enter again if your 90 days are used up.
Does the rule apply to Indian passport holders?
Yes. Indian passport holders need a Schengen visa for short stays, and the 90/180 rule applies on top of the visa's own validity dates and number of days allowed.
Do days on a long-stay visa or residence permit count?
No. Time spent on a national long-stay visa or residence permit of a member country does not count towards the 90 days. Leave those periods out of the calculator.
Is this calculator official?
No. It is a free planning tool from BuyMyVisa, an independent service. The border authority decides entry, so check your visa and the official rules before you travel.
