Leaving the airport during the layover
Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi passport holders need a Singapore visa. Indians can instead use the 96-hour Visa-Free Transit Facility with travel to or from a third country, an onward ticket within 96 hours, and a visa or long-term pass for Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the UK or the US valid for at least one month. Sri Lankans and Nepalis need no visa. Everyone entering files the SG Arrival Card.
Watch out
Separate tickets, or a low-cost booking that makes you collect bags and check in again, are not transit: you clear immigration and must meet the entry rules.
