Do Bangladeshi passport holders need a transit visa for Muscat (MCT)?

No transit visa needed

No visa needed to change flights at Muscat without entering Oman; Oman Air allows up to 24 hours airside. Plan for no fallback: new Omani visas for Bangladeshis have been largely suspended since October 2023.

For an airside connection at Muscat International Airport, Oman: one ticket, bags checked through, onward flight to another country, no immigration.

Leaving the airport during the layover

Indians holding a valid US, UK, Schengen, Canadian, Australian or Japanese visa or residence permit can enter visa-free for 14 days. Others need a Royal Oman Police e-visa; Bangladeshis can get one only in limited cases.

Watch out

A self-transfer on separate tickets needs an Omani visa, which most Bangladeshis cannot get.

Checked on 25 October 2026 against these sources. Transit rules change often, and the airline and the immigration authority have the final say, so confirm with your airline before you travel.
